It began as the Railway Service Commission to recruit staff, give advice and handle disciplinary matters. It now forms policies, monitors activities and expenditures, evaluates performances and manages information. Working for the railway no longer means unskilled or hard physical labor. Workers on the railway do not consist of just laborers and train drivers and track switchers. Now the railways need chemical and metallurgical scientists, Health & Malaria Inspectors, Assistant Loco Pilots, employees with nursing experience and other skilled workers in a variety of technical and non-technical departments. The RRB frequently calls for applications through their website; they read the applications and call eligible candidates in for a written exam. You will always have thirty days’ notice.
